Default Pacesetter LT people, come in here!

How did you seal the slip fit collectors? I cant seem to get them to seal and I think its killing my mileage.

I did too. It's not exactly the right way of doing things, but I suspected a leak there and wanted to be sure.

If in the rare case I must drop my exhaust(havent had to yet), I can just cut it down and re weld it when I'm done

Stainless steel band clamps. It still leaks some, but it will seal if I put a bead of RTV around it.

did any body notice how they are welded inside the primary? That makes the ports like 1 1/2 inches stepped into a 1 3/4 primary. Seems like a big restriction to me. My current bbk 1 5/8 shorty's are welded on the outside, makes me wonder if its even gonna make a difference putting the pacesetter lt's on.

There's more to it than you think. The stepping design inside the header makes a low pressure zone and helps out with back pressure. And yes, you want back pressure.

I figured it prolly had to do with back pressure, just wasnt sure if these would be good for my 383.

Leaks??? bwahaahaa! I have the band clamps that came with the TSP x-pipe rumbler setup. Not leaks... Actually when I went to pull the headers apart from the rest of the exhaust for the first time in 2 years, I had to go apeshit on them. Wouldn't budge at first they were wedged/sealed so good. Sheeeeit, I'd be scared to put any extra adhesives or crap in there after all the pulling and twisting it took to get'em off. I sorta like the 3 bolt flange idea.

edit : my band clamps are about 4 inches wide and have a stepped ridge where the exhaust overlaps the header. And there's two bolts that do the clamping.. have to get a better picture sometime. And when I tighten them up, I use the impact gun.
