Radio shuts off sometimes

Radio shuts off sometimes I have a weird problem in my 96 Z where my radio will be completely black (doesn't show the time or anything) when I start the car up. After driving for a few minutes the radio will come on and it will work fine. I think I hear a clicking noise from the passenger side dash area when the radio finally comes on. Is there a relay over there or something?
I have the factory Bose stereo. I haven't had the car that long but it seems like it might only do it on really hot days.

hey at least yours works normal...when i first got my last car the radio never worked till i honked the horn one day and the speakers magically came on.... talk about weeeird... at least you dont have to run around the neighborhood holding down your horn to listen to some tunes :-)

I have the same problem and it has only gotten worse to the point where I will not even roll my windows down because I may not be able to put them back up when I park somewhere. I used to be able to just hit the unlock button and the radio and everything would turn back on, but now that won't even work.
I have heard from a lot of guys on here that its my BCM, I just wanted to know if I can buy any BCM for an LS1 f-body or if it has to be the same year, tranny, things like that. I have never heard of an OPTI. This could be it aswell?

Yup, before replacing it, I would strongly recommend doing all the diagnostics you can. It could be as simple as a ground. It would suck to spend the money on a BCM only to find out you have the same trouble. But for me, it ended up being the BCM itself.
Mine has been doing this as well. It seems wierd since mine is an 01 with 72k miles, but who knows. Could it be from the aftermarket alarm I had installed?? I also had keyless entry before.
