Angry Big Problems!

Just wanting to vent!!! Paid local shop to build a engine.I paid big money for a 383. Put the engine in the car with a mail order tune and the car ran like ****. Started to look into why my car ran funny. When I relized that I had paid for a ride that I never got to go on. I found that my 383 was infact a 355. Im pissed. I need a a beater car that I can sit in my driveway and beat the hell out of it. I see people with their conv. down, and Im stuck driving a 95 ford exploder with over 200,000 miles. One of those cars that you wouldn't be caught dead in. Yeah I get to drive that crap. Thanks for letting me vent my string of bad luck. I needed that. I want my car.

Wow, i am sorry to hear that, my 95 has been sitting longer than it has been running since i owned it. It sux, it should still run good, i mean, a 383 makes 40-60 more HP with the extra cubes, if it is running poorly then there is somthing wrong. Did a machine shop do it or what?

Yeah had it machined. But the problem is is that this butt hole lied to me. he was the one that was doing everything. I just happened to think i was getting riped off and took a look into things you know. with everything that i have bought for the car and all the upgrades i would have been pushing like 725-750hp but becuz all the wrong parts that were bought for the car the only hp i will be getting is pushing it back onto the car hauler, and taking it home.

How do you know its only a 355? By the power output, or did you pop a head off and measure? Or did he tell you that?
Maybe its the mail order tune making it run like ****? A combo like that will never be right with a mail order tune.

I am with the others here how do you know it is not a 383?

The entire package needs to be working as a synch's up team. one off issue and it is all crap.

FIND the problem and solve it. the rest should fall in line.

I bought a rare 85 Dodge Conquest for $350, and put like $1400 into it, including a new turbo, and I never got to drive it in the 4+ years I owned it Wasn't getting oil pressure after I installed the new turbo, which didn't make any sense. Never did figure out the cause.

But +1 on "how do you know it's a 355". You'd have disassemble the motor to figure that out.

I would like to know that to. If you are running 700+ hp you have got to be using FI, which means a mail order tune probably wouldnt run all that great.

True that! Mine is over that at the crank for sure and I would not even think of a mail tune

The original crank shaft is still in the car, the stroke is 3.480 and I need it to be 3.750,and the part number for the pistons are for a 355 stroke 3.480. It was the shop that I took it to that fucked everything up, not the machine shop they only did what this ******* told them to. already talked to machine shop and they have said that this block was for a 355 not 383. I dont think it is the tune, its the fact of everything that I have on the car is for 383. and what I have is a 355 block including the super charger which doesn't work right becuz the compresstion is to high. But in light of everything I got my hands on a 454 big block with tranny!!
