I think you are referring to the SLP SFCs with the x brace that ties the sides together...

if so, just get a set of BMR or UMI weld-ins if you don't plan on removing them, bolt-in if you do. The cross brace gets in the way of any under car work you need to do. It does however add a bit of strength and rigidness to the chassis. It is better suited for T-Top cars and car that are really putting a twist to the chassis.

BMR has customer cars in the single digits though, and I wouldn't think twice to go with their stuff!!

you don't necessarily need the cross brace...just adding the SFCs helps out more than enough on a T-Top car. how do u like those tubulars by the way?? seem like they are better as far as ground clearance?

well, they sit a little lower than the subframe does obviously... it scraped when i got off the drive-on rack at work but so did the cat hanger. hehe.

They are slick under there. its not a huge ground clearance problem tho. I looked at pictures of the boxed ones, and i wondered how the hell people get around with them on!

I wouldnt worry about the diamond style. They will give you problems with exhaust and/or TQ Arm packages if you ever need to go that route. I prefer boxed, but tubular work too.
