Header gasket ?s
Hey guys I will be running stock GM new manifold gaskets for my PS headers that I recieved today. On the stock GM gaskets there are three little tabs that stick out from underneath can I go ahead can cut those 3 little tabs off? I also need to drill 2 new holes in each header gasket is this correct? The stock GM gaskets go on the way where it says manifold side right? Thanks Devin

Trying to use manifold gaskets with headers is a mistake. Tried it with a buddy's car. Punching the extra holes ruins the gasket almost instantly. If you are doing headers, use header gaskets.

Take them back. It's a waste of time I'm tellin ya. Advance seems to carry some speed parts. They will probably have some header gaskets. Just get a D port gasket. Anything really is good if you do it right. (That is if it's the right application.)

Well I am curious to see what happens if you use GM gaskets. I have PS as well and cannot get them to seal. I have tried every kind except GM and Fel-Pro gaskets. If they were inexpensive I think you should try them. But I am no expert.

I've tried embossed copper gaskets and they didn't seal so good. A few cylinders were sealed, but the rest just didn't crimp too well. I didn't feel like buying new gaskets, so I used the asbestos ones that came with my PS and they're great! No leaks at all!
