Default intake manifold question

is it possible to run a SBC manifold on an LT1? the only differance i can think of would be the coolant crossover on the SBC manifold.
i would like to run an single plane, but noone makes them for LT1s

Yes it can be done, and there are people who will do the conversion to make it work:

Brett Bauer

Eric @ intakeelbows.com

I'm sure there are others.

GM makes two manifolds.

You can convert any SBC by welding up the hols and re drilling and spot cutting the bolt hole then resurfacing the intake to true it up

I know it sounds redneck, but couldn't you just JBWeld the holes up? My buddy JBWelded the side of his block up where it had a hole in it LOL It held forever.

They were done at a machine shop, i thought i was buying a Super Victor off a LT1 with the holes drilled in it, when i got it there were no holes, i looked at the heads and the new ones were there, he said there was no sealing problems like if the intake was drilled, no need to cover the pre existing holes.

The older LT1 heads actually have a place on the head where it could be drilled and tapped for a conventional SBC intake. My 94 heads on my car do, but the factory 97's did not.
