Default LE2 H/C package

Would this package work well in a 383 or 396 stroker LT1? Or would it be better off suited off in something smaller like a bored 30 over stock block? Which route would make the most power? I know usually a 383 or 396 would, but I am not sure on the specs on this cam, but according to the website, it should put a stock LT1 with LTs, 58mm TB, 30# injectors, etc. into the 400-420 rwhp range? Is this true? If so, what could I expect out of a 383 or 396? Are the heads by themselves any good? If so, should do the heads and get a custom grind cam? I am looking for the easiest or best way to make over 400rwhp N/A? If that is achievable with the stock block/stock cubes, I'd like to do it.

The LE2 package is a very proven h/c combo for a good price. The cam is ground to fit the heads so there is no need for another custom cam and yes the heads are very good. Many people have made over 400rwhp with the LE2 package but they have mostly been m6 cars I think and I'm not sure if they had a 10 bolt or 12 bolt rear. The package will work well in a stroker engine but it would be small in my opinion. If I was building a 383 or 396 I would go with a LE3 package at least or a combo of LE3 parts and LE4 parts. I've heard Lloyd is a great guy to work with so just get in contact with him, let him know your goals and he will set you up with a winning combo.

I am running LE2 heads and the baby 503 in a 355 LT1 Impala at 4400 lbs and run low 12's and ran a best of 12.18@112. If it were me I would build a 355 and run the **** out of it. And I only spin to 6300 rpms at WOT. Just my opinion.

It depends, are you looking for max power? Then go with the LE3, for a milder setup LE2. Its that simple.

ive talked to lloyd already about stock heads on a stroker motor, and his reply was the le3 head will suffice, although if your looking for most hp possible, you will run an aftermarket head such as trickflow and afr with his portwork, which will allow for even more flow creating bigger numbers. he also said on a small cubic inch (355) the le3 heads will be perfect and you will see minimal, if any gains in rwhp over aftermarket heads.

Do talk with Lloyd.

FWIW, the cam supplied with LE packages is specific for the engine size. IOW, the cam for a 383 will be different from the cam for a 355.
