If you have a visual inspection there like I think you do, no matter what you do you WILL fail with long tubes. They move the original location of the cats so even if you put some back on, they still wont be legal. You might be able to get away with it, but know that even with emission fittings on the headers AND cats in the y-pipe, that you are not emissions legal.

True, KOOKS and Pace's are in a different class along with Hooker, JetHots, etc. No comparison, KOOKS ??? with race setups, the others are fine for mild to moderate street setups.

I've heard nothing but good about Pace so yeah. KOOKS on race setups are awesome but pricey bro. When I was running mild I ran JetHots which were ok with the exception of the #1 primary never sealing 100% and sucking oxygen, running rich on one side, blah blah blah. Hopefully Pace's are all single primaries to the collector.

Here's what you can do and what the issues are. First, moving a cat from the stock location is an automatic failure if the tech knows what they're doing and wants to be a turd. If a visual inspection is done with a catless Y-Pipe, nine times out of ten you'll get failed too. If you go the catless route, make sure you get a tune and have the rear O2's deleted. Thus, no SES light. If you get a catted Y-Pipe, you shouldn't have a problem with the SES light coming on. If you do, delete the rear O2's via tune, and no more SES light.

Im doing the work myself. I just passed inspection... I just dont want to get pulled over by the cops and they see zero cats under the car.

I want to go with cats in the Y-pipe. does pacesetter make a y-pipe with cats in it and the o2 holes? I forget, are the o2s in the headers and then the post-cat one after the y-pipe meets?

Well i've been told at mfba (my local club) that the pacesetters are good for 400-450hp. The hookers and kooks are "tuned" headers so you want to look into something like that if your going all out. If it's a straight race car then yeah get the kooks or hooker super comps. Idk man i'm in love with my setup. I went with the ceramic coated pacesetters. Those through the borla sound friggin awesome, i'm very very pleased. I know several people through my club that run them on 450hp plus cars with no problem. So performance isn't really an issue. But if that thing is going to be a straight racer then i would look into hookers or kooks. Your call, but again i think best bang for your buck would be the coated pacesetters.

Yeah if you have a visual inspection man take apart a cat cut it in half and just weld the casing around the y pipe. Who the **** would no the difference. They'll look underneath and see a cat there. Chicago doesn't have anything like that. Just plug and in the obd2 port. So i got the race readies and a pcm tune. But if they ever got stupid that's exactly what i'd do. Weld a crappy old cat to the y pipe. Emissions qaulified

Looks good man, these two are a few months old and have spots on the engine bay paint job, normally it's shinier than the outside of the car and you can eat off the engine, it just rained.
