Default difference between stock optis?

i have a 94 v8 car, i have a little spout coming out of the air elbow on the driver's side maybe a foot or less past the air filter. I went to check the filter and there was nothing connected to this tube so I just grabbed a hose next to it and connected it to it, it was bent and in the right spot so I'm pretty sure it is supposed to go there. Anyway do I have a late model 94 with a vented opti then? what is the difference between a 93-94 and 95-97 opti?

The '95-'97 Opti's are vented and the '93-'94 are not

The vented opti's were vented so that air could circulate through it so that moisture would not build up and cause the opti to fail.

With the exception of the big LT1 cars all the impala/caprice/caddy/buick LT1s have vented optis.
So what type car do you have Matt?

I've got a 94 firebird formula, What the hell does that little tube and hose run to if it don't go to the opti? Wouldn't that make mine vented if air goes to it like that?
