If you've got the money to drop on a C6 by all means do it. I was just thinking in terms of price/performance ratio, it would be cheaper to get an LT1 and build it to make huge power than to buy a C6, but obviously if you're going to mod it you can get way more out of the LS2, and now LS3.

The Toyota FJ cruser is full of problems like windshields that break all the time, wireing problems and the bodys cracking. I was involved hosting the Toyota Tocoma National off road event in Hot Springs Arkansas. Those pieces of crap broke so easy they were dangerous. We straightend a twisted entire front clip with two guys and just their finger tips. I don't care how fast they are Toyota trucks and their off road ability is for marketing purpose only. I'd like to see that "powerfull Tundra actually use that power for a truck chore like towing a camper. I say they are junk.

By your logic (price/performance ratio) buying the LTX is not a good deal. For about 12K you can spank a new Z06 with an 08 Busa! To get a reliable/streetable/full feature 500RWHP out of an LTX takes more money than most people think, as for cars; the GM performance car bang for the buck is probably an LSX fbody or C5.

In hindsight I would have been money ahead by skipping my 95 and jumping into a 00-03 C5, but I would have missed the challenge of modding an LT1.

I really hate when people say 500rwhp is impossible with a 383 ltx, my dads been building high performance motors for 35 years, worked for gm high perf div. in the 70s, and had a 10.21 chevelle in 1971 at english town, alot of people dont know how to maximize their setups. We built my cousins 94 6spd trans am and we did heavily ported afr 215s, matched lt4 intake, and flp long tubes ( along with about every bolt on, lt1 edit, full suspension, mccloud, 4.10s everything) in 2000 it dynoed at 430 at the wheels on a stock 64k short block, last summer it dynoed at 433, with almost 100k on the short block, i dont doubt at all we could have broke 500 rwhp n/a pump gas with a stroker. The car was no track queen but his setup could be duplicated for prolly 30k with car, that would beat just about anything on the street. my cousin bought a last year old body style ( i think 03??) finial editon viper gts, #359 of 360, and he did a b and b exhaust, and headers, we ran the trans am against the viper, and we beat it, it is easier to make alot of hp with new motors, but since i do all my work, i would rather have my 30k trans am with a stout stroker, suspension, clutch, brakes ect, then a stockish vette with h/c for 20 grand more

You spent $30K and you only put down 433rwhp? And if you only put down 433rwhp with a 350 there is no way you would have done 500+rwhp with a 383. I'm not saying its impossible to do with an LT1, but it will be VERY expensive.

480-520 rwhp is not that hard for an LT1.

-Forged Internals with a Supercharger
-Fresh Block with Stage 3 Heads/Cam Package and Stroker Crank

and I have seen several other people hit the 450-525 mark with various setups and parts. I am not going to say its easy or that cheap, but at the same time its not that hard either. Its about being smart and putting together the right combo and parts.

I'm not talking about forced induction, I'm talking about n/a with a hydrolic roller.

What part of HYDROLIC roller do you guys not understand? I know you can make 500+rwhp with a solid roller but that wasn't the question. If someone is making 500+rwhp with a hydrolic roller I want to know what their setup is since most people are <450rwhp.
