ALot of people use conventional style small block heads and convert them to work on a LT1.

The diets in the works for the car and getting started with the fat *** driver.

We have talked to everyone who knows about tranys and anything with synchros gets dicey at those rpms. Just too much twist for them to slow down. You can shift it real slow but not what you would want in a racing situation.

LOL easy easy, Automatics are for guys with skimpy wallets LOL. wait till you hook that thing a couple of times, weird vibrations, whining rear end...just wait.

You need to have a sticker made for the back glass:

5 speed equipped, please stand back 50ft.

Dave from experiance even with an Oil cooler the Rocked block is going to kill you on track days. I am sure you already knew that but I thought I would mention it....We tried

You get it all ironed out and you should easily reach your Goals.

BTW the win we had at Bonneville this year was in a tri-purpose car We ran mid-low tens Place in the Seattle International car show and won the Bonneville 100 120MPH class all in a few months time

Yeah, I talked with T56 rebuilds that's part of how I came to this conclusion. I can't really divulge what they told me about their setup but it certainly won't work for what we are doing. Pure race only.

Ellis, what do you mean about the oil cooler? Are you talking from cooling perspective? that's cool about the Bonneville car.

I think that might be a bit optimistic for the weight of the car. Sure if it had a 3400 raceweight but that's never gonna happen. The math says it should go about 132 - 133 on the motor with the current weight. However, I would love to have it run 137 on motor.

If you put that thing on a diet I think it could have set the 6 speed record. I'm talking -700 or more pounds and I think it would be yours. I think you need to really decide what you're going to use the car for. Yeah, multi tasking cars can do ok in a few areas, but if you really wanted that record I think you should have set out to do that from the start.

Dave, you should leave the chute on it to roadrace. Imagine getting passed by this monster on a roadcourse and noticing the chute as he goes by....PRICELESS!
