Mine seems to be fine, I have a tip in issue sometimes but I am not tuned yet and I have the throttle plate almost all the way open for it to idle.

When Ed Wright gets done with it he will drill a hole in the plate for it to idle.

Nitrous Outlet does make an elbow that retains factory stuff like the throttle body, throttle cable bracket, vaccum lines.....etc.

David when are you going to Ed Wright's?? My buddy who has the stealth ram, 383, SR setup is talking his car to Ed's Friday (the motor you and your pops help built) I believe it went 10.60's on motor before. Thought it would be cool if you both were down there at the same time, lol.

HE HE, I am going on the 21st, Tapout911 is that your friend? I got in the door on the 21st before he did LOL.

Yes Clydes engine went 10.60's on race fuel with a different cam ALL MOTOR! And LT1 factory castings!! Damn impressive piece. Had some more in it also.

Actually Clyde built that engine by himself, I just did some little stuff on it. He HE I have the headers and fuel system off that car.

BTW did you see my idle vid, sounds purty cool I think.

I just sold my old one for $200 too, there are lots of guys that can make them though, its just sheetmetal and a 4150 flange.

Tony.
i would prefer a cast elbow over the sm ones, the 4150 flange on the sm looked kinda thin,
i think a ls 90mm tb would work well with a lt motor

I also prefer cast elbows, Ive had both and the Wilson is a better choice IMO.

Here are some pics of mine,

I had the sheetmetal elbow setup on my old 396ci, it was an intakeelbows peice. 58mm holley with it.

Now its a 90mm Accufab TB and the wilson elbow.

Cast/90 is much more expensive because you have to get the IAC adapter and new sensors.

Why?

Because the elbow is a big peice of the induction, the elbow creates torque on the charge. So the way the elbow is made is a huge part of it.

And the 90mm flows more then the 58mm, it also looks a **** ton better.

Its 4x as hard to tune as well as price.

K thanks,

i was talking to Ron (turbo 6 ) and he used the NW 90mm LS1 TB and all the sensor fit IAC/TPS...

did you mill down your elbow at all-?

What did you do with the fuel lines ??? how did you hook that up

You could use an LS style peice, yes.

The accufab piece is for a mustang, you will need an 85-93 TPS, (I think those are the years, i forget) and the $75 IAC adapter for the GM screw in TPS. Other then that is straight forward. Wire the TPS the same way the GM is.

My elbow is not milled at all, its got 2 1/2 Vaccum fittings on the back and a throttle linkage bracket on the passanger side.

An NX plate under it too

The fueling is -8 feeds of a Y block, and two -8 returns to a regulator with a -6 to the tank.

Tony.

seems like both the elbows cleared a ss or cowl hood,
are u using a tub. kmember? even with the nx plate does the hood close pretty well, doesnt seem like the elbow interfers with the hood to much

As said above, just buy the LS1 Nick Williams 90mm TB, turn it upside down so the throttle cable will be on the drivers side and you don't have to worry about splicing and adapters and all that crap, just bolt the stock LT1 sensors right up. Don't try to reinvent the wheel with subpar quality parts.
