that radiator set up look decent, whats the fan size on that? I gotta do that with the blower and more belt hanging out up front i need some extra room.
? .... If i have Edelbrock Performer LT1 heads can i run the LT4 intake ?
They make an LT1 version. 7107 I believe, and 7109 is the LT4. Same intakes except the port size I believe, so it'll match up to LT4 heads.
Otherwise, if you ported the heads to match the intake, yea it'd work fine. I'd just go with the LT1 version personally. (Not that I can, w/o converting to 94+ injection )
How much did the intake and TB cost? It looks really nice together!
Intake is around $400 I believe from Jegs or so (can't remember) and LE charges $200 to go through it. TB I got when I sold/traded my Single plane intake, but I think they are around $450-500.
What are the specs on your radiator?
Rad is a Griffin that I had them add a Drain setup on the bottom and a -6an fitting for the coolant steam pipe. Also they welded a -16 and a -20 for my connections. Measures 27.5X15.5X3, and I had the aluminum setup welded to the top to make everything look really clean, thought about powdercoating black????
nice set up.. im sure if you put a fan shroud on it would cool it that just that much more
To be hones I don't believe its neccesary, car stays at 160 going down the road (summer time 90+degrees) and I have to set in traffic for SEVERAL minutes before it even heats up to like 175-180 then the Fan comes on and cools it to 160 again. Usually when i drive it the fans never have tocome on, lol.
It's really hard to make out on my monitor, but did you cut the whole original upper crossbrace out and weld in a separate piece, or just cut out a wide enough section for the radiator to clear out of the original? I can see the weld beads where you boxed in the open part where it was cut, I just can't make out if it goes all the way across.
Welding the "shroud" to the top of the radiator was a pretty slick idea.
Good job, looks very professional ! What kind of money did all the equipment cost for this project ?
The rad will cost a little under 300 Shipped with all the fittings welded to it, I had the aluminum laying around so i had that Tig welded and cleaned up myself. The Braided lines are VERY expensive (around $80 for a 90 -20) but I bargan shopped and found what I needed on ebay for all around $150.00. Aeroquip lines and swivel ends, Fan is around $145 shipped i believe, its the S-blade cyclone fan that flows 2500CFM. Not pictured but I had a company make me a Coolant overflow that is clear and looks very much like a OEM peice right in the battery location.

I have a nice supply of free metal and aluminum at my house so i can alsways grab stuff to fab up with, lol. Yea I made the support myself, just had my dad weld everything up wit ha STICK welder, lol, but I worked on cleaning everything up and it came out pretty good IMO. The new support is a tad heavier than the stock peice cut out, but I have noticed the car seems structually stronger when driving which I like.

Well I was actually going to go a different route with it (Aluminum bolts welded onto the rad) and have the piece bolted to it, but the tig guy suggested just welding the peice. Called Griffin and they thought it was a great idea, so I went with it, lol.
Man, that's cool!! Heck... I'm impressed enough with how much space you've freed up. There should easily be enough room for something like a turbo kit. Great work!

Well no Turbo for me but I do have a D1SC going back there, lol
that's a kick *** setup
Thanks
Here is a pic of my a Fully ported GM LT4 intake from GTP that I traded for my single plane. You can look how it compares to the Edelbrock, I really like the way the Edelbrock is looking, a lot of Potential from this intake.
Be real clean to powder coat it red so it blends right in... I know everyone is saying the same stuff but, it does look like there's alot more room in there. Looks really good. Thanks for putting up all the info on who what where and how much the stuff cost ya.
