Looking for some advice on first mods! Okay, i've had 2 LT1's for the longest time and both were stock, I sold one. The car i kept is a 96 TA triple white vert, I'm looking to get the WS6 hood with Ram Air..but it seems I can't find the lid and such for the ram air? But anyhow. I'm looking to do pretty much full intake and exhaust..probably hooker headers..not sure on the rest for exhaust, as for intake side. aftermarket MAF sensor worth it? and keeping this car the way it is..if anything a mild cam with all this..52 or 58mm TB, what would be the up and downfalls of each? I don't want too much but i don't want the 52 to hurt me down the road..and is switching to LT4 intake manifold worth it? or should I port the heads/intake? Not sure on what companies or parts, as why i'm looking for some advice and recommendations! thanks very much : )

As for the MAF say with the stock one, summit sells the ram air box from slp.Hooker is a good header so is pace setter for the LT1.I would recommend a 52 mm tb 58 is for strokers. As for a mild cam comp 503 it sounds alright nice lope I like the comps XFI lines though, thats me. As for heads and intake thats really up to you ported or aftertmarket it really depends on the money. As for the LT4 intake, do not put it on the stock heads unless you or you now of someone whom as done this and knows what they are doing. if not, it can create may damage than good. The Lt4 intake was made for a 195cc heads for the LT4 heads.

thanks alot 98pontiacfirehawk, you know your stuff : ) Well, I'm thinking about going 383 with the motor..but it wouldn't be for awhile..so would it be better of holding out on the tb and just going hood/ram air? I shouldn't descreen the MAF or anything? as for exhaust I see alot of people going pacesetter on here, is it mainly the price difference? I've seen alot of people with coated hooker headers and love them. Don't know too much about the pacesetters. What would you recommend headers back? I don't want this car crazy loud driving around town or when I come home late from work, I was thinking headers with a nice cat back for daily..but for weekends putting an electronic cutout?

What I think i'm gonna do is just leave intake/heads alone until I decide finally if I build this LT1..or look for a 4 bolt block and build that..or put an LS1 in the car..oh the choices with motor work hah. and no I will never sell this car for another : )

If you plan on a 4 bolt I would stroke it to a 396 for about 3 to 4 hundred more than a 383 kit, I would descreen the maf cause if you stroke it you will need a reprogram for sure for the price, go with pace setter coated it wii be worth it in the end. Good luck!!
Yank that motor put it on a engine stand. Then call golen engine service and order up a 396 shortblock. I would go with reworked stock heads or trickflow. Get a custom grind cam when you order.. Then work on the drive line and suspension to put the power to the ground. Bolt ons will only get you half hard and alot of new cars will keep up with lt-1's these days. You go this route and you wont look back.
