Ok, so would it be a good plan to first beef up the rear end and the transmission before doing anything to the engine right? I have heard and read many good things about the Moser Nine Inch and also read a good comment about ACE Auto Transmissions, may do those two first and then do heads, cam and everything else. It seems a good plan.

Even my critics say that given the numbers my car puts down at the track it is making 390-410rwhp through the auto and the cam is smaller than the 847, actually closer to the 503 and the heads are middle of the line package from Advanced Induction.

To make power you need to get things right and that is where most people fail. They get caught up in marketing and BS slinging and lose sight of real results.

That's very logical thinking. It's also a very good idea. For the kind of power you want, build from the back and move forward. Meaning, rear => trans => motor. I don't follow my own advice there, because I'm not going to make that power, and I won't ever be running on anything stickier than a D.R. Does that mean things won't break? No. It means I am less likely to have trouble, but if I do, the car's gonna be out of commission for awhile.

Exactly, thing is this car is my daily driver, so while I can stop it for 3-4 days, but I cant run the weekend without it, so blowing the rear end is definetely not an option. The problem with this analogy is that I have to spend 3500( transmission work + Moser Nine Inch) just to be able to get into the engine. But, I like to do things right so I will go that way. Thanks for the advice, any more suggestions will be appreciated. Up to know, I will save some money for the Moser and tranny. Thanks again, Roger

Get a 12 bolt. The nine inch robs too much power and is overkill for most applications... The only up side to it over the 12 bolt is the removable guts as 1 assembly... good if your constantly changing gear ratios, but most people just dont need it.

For transmissions, just have yours "bulletproofed" by a good shop in your area. The Toy Shop out here in california will build your trans and give you a 365 day warranty, even if you race it 365 days straight. You break it, he fixes it and the warranty starts all over again. Cheaper than a whole new trans too.

I'd get the 9". If you're wanting to run a 100 shot and hit 500 HP now, you'll want more later. Not to mention I'll take added strength and protection over a few extra HPs. Have patience and build for the future young grasshopper.

Definetely, when you're not rich, is better to spent more once than spend medium twice. I will go for their 850 hp tranny, just in case
