Question rear O2 sensor question

I have a 96 LT1 TA and I just installed a Pacesetter o/r y-pipe and longtube headers without cats and need to know if its better to tune out the rear O2 sensors or just get the O2 simulators? If tuning out is the way to go do I just the the connector on the wiring harnes bare or is there a plug to close it off with... also then can i do erase them with my hypertech programer and how do I do that if thats the way to go...

Depends if your going to tune the car for headers. If your going to do a mail order tune, then just tune it out. If you don't plan on tuning you car for a while, get the simulators. Simulators are like $90 and a performance tune is $150.

Hypertech can't tune out the o2 sensors.
Just tape off the connectors if you don't get simulators.

You might not be able to get simulators anymore since the gov forced the company that makes them out of business.

Is that true? That's absolutely retarded if so. Basically any aftermarket performance part will be illegal in most states. That's why they say "off road use only." How do they know it isn't for a drag racing car?

Yeah you'll have to kill the lights then. They don't effect engine performance though, just monitor cat efficiency.

As I said you probably aren't going to find them anymore. You'll need to get a tune.
