yours must not have worked right. Mine has saved my *** in rush hour traffic more times then I can count. My Air bags have saved my life.

One of the hardest desicions was to pull them out and make the car a street legal race car...

It'll amaze you how much more responsive the brakes are and how much harder you can get on them before they lock up, idk if you've driven one of these cars without it and just a proportioning valve (which is what we did). Definitely a big improvement

I relocated mine to Ebay. Personally I think ABS does nothing for safety cuz it doesn't allow you to actually brake. All it really does is ensure that what you are about to hit, that you hit it head on. I think I would come out better locking the brakes up and steering the slide. I don't know how the electronic steering program works on my VW, but they don't call it ABS. It's pretty advanced I think. I have never locked it up and you can't feel the pedal fighting you so I don't know what it does.

taking abs off of anything is not an improvement...wait till you completely lock them up and need to veere while you are on the brakes...just remember without abs soon as you slam on the brakes your going to go straight(no matter which way you turn the wheel) until you let off the brakes...

the abs isnt badass in lt1 cars but its more than good...works fine for me and ill be keeping it...
ls1 brakes help with brake fade...
good pads help A LOT....
properly breaking them in (rotors/pads) is a MUST!!!!
and replacing brake fluid every 6 months should be done...

Just take it off and see the improvement, yes i'm well aware of the locking up factor so if that scares you dont take it off, there are people who know how to drive with ABS and those that do not. I'm not trying to act better then anyone but i do know how to drive without the ABS, have done so for the past 2 years and it doesnt bother me one bit, locked the brakes up once and that was in the rain, simply let off for a split second and got back on. It'll amaze people the improvement in response and performance without these abs units, i should get a video of me braking hard with one with out it and see how much...if any...of a difference it makes

Like I said your must not have worked. We have this thing called 'rain' here. ABS really shines in it

YES I have driven 4th gens with out it right after I converted them. Feels exactly the same as before only there is no safety of ABS

im assuming the reason yours felt better was the new brake fluid...brake fluid absorbs water and then reduces its boiling point, also if you get the calipers hot themselves the fliud can boil and actually trap air in the caliper or lines...either of these you would prolly not notice until you put in new brakes fluid then it feels like your car has new brakes...most people would be amased what happend with simply doing this

To each is own, I don't miss ABS at all. Come to think of it, the only car I ever had with ABS is VW, but it's not even really that.
