It's just in a prime location for water, down low....under the water pump! However, a little care goes a long way. Mine's unvented and I have never had a problem getting it wet.

The M1 5w-30 everyone loves for the LT1 in reality is a mediocre choice.
Some guy on here was asking about fuel pressure and he says he wants to put M1 in. So I tell him to get 0w-40 or the Turbo Diesel Truck (Delvac 1), so he goes and buys 5w-30.

I run mobil one just because I switched over to a synthetic after the break in miles and didnt really know of a better one that I could find...I aint gonna pay the money for royal purple and its hard to find German Castrol...Are there any other brands that I can find at the parts store that are better than mobil one..I tried the search but found so many different opinions

Royal Purple is good for racing but generally does not hold up to the street well.
German Castrol is probably the most available but better than M1 alternative.
Buffman pays close attention to the current oil formulas maybe he can pop in with the current best M1. M1 is good oil just the 5w-30 M1 everyone assumes is best for the LT1 realy shows mediocre results when lab tests are done with used oil.

Without a UOA, I would say the Turbo Diesel Truck. Just a shot in the dark guess. It has many many detergents and has good cold start properties. It's the same oil many OTR truckers use for thousands of miles.
