Ok..it may just be me, i don't even know if it's possible to do or not, but is the belt tensioner on upside down???? I haven't looked at mine in a lil' but for some reason i think his might be installed wrong. Hell the more i look at it i think i'm almost positive it is. The first picture the pulley should be up between the other two pulleys instead of below it since there's no pressure on it pushing it down, the 2nd picture it should be up between them even more than that, which is why he's got so much slack. And now i read he had problems getting the belt on so i'm assuming he didn't use the belt tensioner to give himself some slack to get the belt over one of the other pulleys. But i could be wrong, i work on an LT1 caprice, something on there may be different.

So it was the 61.5 belt that worked?

sorry guys Im short on time now but it was the 61.5 that worked. I dont think the belt tensioner is upside down..? That could make sense because the belt barely rests on the tensioner now..but that would mean I need a diff belt again. Hopefully stock 63.5.

It should work with ur stock belt if it is in fact upside down.

Hmm, I didn't think it would go on upside down! But to reiterate, I had to use the shorter belt cuz the pulley (like in the pic) is almost 1/2 the size of the compressor pulley.

No wonder I had so much trouble with finding the right belt before..Ok I put the tensioner on the right way and once I loosened it the stock belt fit like a glove. Thanks for pointing that out guys I would have been screwed.
