A/C delete problem
A/C delete problem I just installed my A/C delete pulley [non GM one I believe] and my belt seems to havea little too much slack. I re-routed it, even diff that the visual says to as well. Ill get a pic when Im not in a hurry but is it common to buy a shorter belt with A/C delete?? Thanks!
Well when I got my delete the first time I had the same prob...I would rev it up and it would pop the belt off...it even cut my belt in half rubbing on the pulley ...I took it back and got another one that this time it came with 2 spacers that u had to put on before the pulley...no more problems.
In my experience, there are two pulleys. A big one and a smaller one. I got the smaller one and there was slack in the belt as you said. I got a shorter belt and it works like a charm. It's like Gates # 6040440 or something like that.
Tomorrow I'll take a pic but I simply put the A/C delete pulley on and the belt tensioner back on[pulley on bottom], and routed the factory belt again, but it seems to be a little loose with I'd say 2-3 inch of slack. When I say I re-routed it diff I mean I simply placed the belt on the bottom of the belt tensioner rather than the top. Im not starting the car soon so dont worry, just trying to get it figured out here. Im sure I do in fact need a smaller belt.

Lastly, here is the slack in the belt, and it seems to be about 2", and I should note this is with the belt below the belt tensioner as well which may be wrong, so I could need to reduce the belt by more than 2"?
I was going to wait for some reactions of course then of course get it checked out or talk to the guys at autozone/advance.

Yes you need the shorter belt with that.
I got the "true" replacement(not GM, can't buy GM I tried) and it takes a stock belt...well it ate the stock belt already
A quick look tell's me the pulley is wobbling to much so I will have to see what is up with it.

A quick look tell's me the pulley is wobbling to much so I will have to see what is up with it. I'm so frustrated it's not even funny. After 2 different trips to autozone I finally concluded I need a 61.5" belt(stock is 63.5"). And now when I try to put it on it is BARELY too small. The 62" belt I tried went on fairly easy, and had even the slightest bit of slack. The 61.5" was the obvious choice but I'm seeing that it is humanly impossible to get this thing on. I'm shocked. I need a 61.75" belt or something and don't even know for sure where to get this. I exhausted all my options for autozone that's for sure.
