LTX Shootout motor pics....
Spent all day making some last minute touches to the motor before I could pick it up and bring it home with me. Ran out of time so most likely monday i'll be bringing my new baby home... Ran into big problem with the vacuum pump location and took Sikora's advice about belt length so we completely redid the bracketry in the front due to it hitting the upper radiator hose when it was mounted....At this point i'm basically waiting on a few banjo bolts for the rear crossover tube, filling it with oil and priming it (hence the reason the distributor isn't in it yet) and then loading it on a truck.... car has been ready for it's new heart for some time save for some minor wiring and fuel line connections....
For NE1 that hasn't been around for the last year and a half that i've been building it, it's 383 ci with AFR 227's, big solid roller, lunati/oliver/je rotating assy, 12:1 CR, with 2 stages of nitrous on it.... looking to make about 1000hp on both kits... Enjoy!!

but it WILL be in the car very soon as my engine builder wants it out of there.... (and he wants to see it IN the car as well) I will have some car pics once my bogarts come in and i start dropping the motor in...
The most exotic thing we did was probably use 6" rods which required a VERY custom piston using buttons instead of spirolox.... we wanted a thick crown on the piston for heavy doses of nitrous so we were forced to run a custom JE piston....

The intake is a Victor E from Edelbrock with the water neck cut off smoothed over and welded..... Of course the inside of it got some "special" treatment as well....
Thanks again guys...

I have a feeling your heads flow better then the brodix's I have. I'm going to shoot for around .680 lift and I'm still considering pistons and maybe a 5.7 rod. But I hope to get it together and come see the big boys in April.
-have you picked out a dizzy yet? i have a low profile crab style and its a bitch to get to the thing, being between the 2 fuel rails. i wish i would have gotten vertical posts on it.....
yeah i'm using a crab cap MSD.... i won't be needing to touch it much so it'll hafta do considering out cowl clearance we need...
