fuel filter band

i changed my filter today and it isnt exactly in the same area as before, so i couldnt use the strap. is it ok to run without it?

oh also my fuel fitting didnt have an O ring on it.

i think the strap is the ground well on alot of cars it is and mine dont have orings either and it dont leak

A lot of them do not come with O-rings, my last one didnt and I am not sure the factory one does either. The line goes deep into the filter and as long as it is screwed in all the way it will not leak.

The band is just there to hold the filter in place. Without it the filter can and may bounce around and slap on the underside of the car. Probably just a nuisance as a worst case scenerio - it is too far away to cause knock retard or anything - but I would imagine it would drive you crazy banging on the underside of the car.
