Stupid Exhaust Question

Stupid Exhaust Question I have a 97 ws6 and the guy that owned it before my had put a flowmaster cat-back on it and it sounded like trash so I first put 4 x 18 magnaflow tips on it which seemed to perk it up a little bit and I was set on getting a magnaflow muffler to replace the fartmaster but the guy at the exhaust shop talked me out of it saying that the magnaflow would quiet it down and make it not sound as aggressive. The next week I put BBK shorties on it then took it to a different exhaust shop to have the y pipe welded where I had to cut and install a magnaflow but the guy at that muffler shop said the same thing. So my question is will a magnaflow muffler with 4 inch tips 3 inch catback factory Y and bbk shorties sound better than a flowmaster with the same combination or perform better. I am looking for performance and I don't mind a little rasp in my exhaust, I would love nothing more than to drop kick that flowmaster off of a cliff but I need a reason other than people say they suck (and it makes my car sound like a pickup) All opinions welcome
I have used FLowmaster on the LT1 with shorty Pacesetters and a factory CAT, with out the cut out, it sounded like a *****, with the QTP cutout, it sounded 100% better. Magnaflow is not rediculously loud but louder then a Flowmaster in my opinion for Fbodies
Yes, it exited near the door. When Capped the flow master was VERY quiet for even having the CATS, when I put my Corsa on, it was a whole different beast. A buddy went from flowmaster to Magnaflow and the tone was better, cleaner, and he felt proud to tell people what he had.

that is all hear that flowmaster is garbage but I am curious why!!! What is it about flowmaster that everyone hates trust me I am not taking sides here I would love nothing more than to jump on the bandwagon and go get a magnaflow for no good reason but before I fix something that isn't broken i would like to have some solid opinions other than flowmaster sucks.
