LT4 Intake

Then you are planning poorly.
Actually as cast your 93 intake is BETTER than the LT4 and if you gave it a chance should seal OK but really you would be better off to look at porting the stock heads.
This may turn into a big pissing match where a bunch of guys withOUT track times in their sigs claim I am wrong.
When considering mods look for track results, not "should be" or any of that crap, look at real world proof. Not a flow bench, not a dyno, the track.

if getting my stock heads ported is the best way to get down the track faster. Plus it's a little bit more cheap. Please take in consideration a 175 to 250 shot will be added to this set up. im planning a 383, and would like to maybe see a low 11, high 10.

A flow bench tells us what heads/intake are capable of. A dyno tells us what a car is capable of. When we get this intake manifold made, I wont flow test it or get dyno #s. Ill just throw it on my vette and go to the track. And when I run 4 tenths of a second quicker Ill comercial it in big, bold letters but failing to mention if there was any change in the driver, air temp, track temp, 60' time, gearing, tires, stall converter,or weight of the car since I ran with the other intake. Just changing one or a couple of those would make up the 4 tenths difference. So mabe the intake didnt give me any extra power. There are too many variables.THAT is misleading. And ive seen it done. The only way to see if a power adder helps or hurts your car is to put it on a dyno.If you gain whp, you know it works. Then its up to the driver and the above mentioned how that power gets put to use.

A flow bench and a dyno are not the measure of a head or intake. It is true that the track is a big test of the car but HP does not equal ET as directly as people think, even when a great chassis is involved. There is something that just defies benchtop measurement.
If you look at RESULTS and stop listening to bench racers you will see the LT1 castings are where it is at especially for a modest goal like high 10s on the bottle.
You get into wilder setups and PROPERLY done LT4s might be worthwhile over PROPERLY done LT1s but so few of us run at that level. People are way too quick to jump on the LT4/aftermarket casting bandwagon.

well listen im trying to get great track times, if LT1 will do me just as good as LT4 ill stay home, and save money! i was thinking about a custom grind for nitrous but is there a great in between? i want my car to be strong N/A and not have to absolutely rely on the bottle.
