Default Wow look at this intake setup

Hey guys, saw this on ebay today,

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1996-...QQcmdZViewItem

ive never seen that type of intake before, i know it says its from a boat, but does anybody else run one of these? kinda looks like the ramjet setup from the gmhp crate motors

Id love to see a dyno sheet for this car, i wonder why he only has short tubes on it??

Top End- Indmare intake (upper and lower) (This is the intake set up they use on the ski boat for the X games the runner are over 8 inches long)-90 mm LS6 BBK throttle body-Matched valve covers from Indmare-Dual Breather filters

The ad is a typo. It's actually "Indmar." It was designed by Mercury Marine, (the same people who did the LT5), and was used on Indmar's "Mastercraft MCX" marine engines:

The intake itself is patterned to fit the new 5700 Series Vortec heads, (which is why it says in the ad that the runners had to be moved a little), and of course the bolt pattern is different from that of LT1 heads.

Scroll down till you see the last two pics on the bottom left:

Heh, the guy in that other thread who was talking about wanting to produce a new LT1 intake should buy this car and copy the design.

Well the runners are said to be 8 inches, and by the looks of it there is a lot more plenum volume. I could see more midrange and upper RPM hp and TQ IMO.

It's been discussed before, no testing of the intake in this link, mostly conjecture and speculation. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=509036

Wow, that is a very interesting design ! I would really like to see some more info on this intake and possibly some testing numbers with different cams taking advantage of the runner length.

Cool design. I would have to believe that the longer runners would improve on the low-midrange TQ.

very interesting car. I don't care for the rims or hood but the rest is pretty nice. That intake looks wicked and would like to know how it performs. I assume its not one off but I have never seen it before.

There are a few people using a similiar version on their L31 truck motors. A few mods have to be made for it to work on the L31.

Here is a link to the one you want. http://www.indmar.com/ProductLine/Ma...MCX/index.html
