Default Safe rev limit for a superchargered lt1?

What is the rev limit for an lt1? I know the tach goes to about 7000, but I am looking for a reasonable and safe rev limit to set my msd ignition at. Does the rev limit differ if a supercharger is on the car or would it be the same for stock as well?

I'm running a Vortech T-Trim running at 16 lbs. My rev limit is set to 6500. I have an MSD Digital 7 as my ignition box.

dont bother taking it up over 6000 if your motor is stock, or something is gonna give!!!

What valvetrain are you running? The supercharger doesn't change where you should shift just because you are making power above the stock RPM limit. The valvetrain is the big concern as far as I know. I don't know about what the conn rods will handle, RPM wise. I know for a fact that the weak 85lb springs from the factory are not going to handle a lot of RPM, especially with the extra power you're now pushing with the s/c.

my motor is pretty much all stock with an vortech s-trim on it... so I figure not go over 6000... I have my msd set at around 5600 or 5800 right now to lean toward the safe side... if I take it to the track I would bump it up to 6000 probably. thanks for the help guys I just wanted to see what others were doing!

You need to set shift points based on the power curve... but if you have stock heads, you are not making any power to speak of above 5600 anyway. The heads and especially stock intake won't allow for much flow above that.

And the stock rods don't like high revs, certainly not without ARP bolts.

It's also important to know which SC your using and where it's RPM limit is. I'm running a P600B with 15lb pullies so 6200 is the max I can spin the motor or I'll overspin the SC.
