when i took mine out, it was from the top, WITH THE MOTOR AND TRANS CONNECTED. a lot of people on this board swear by the out the bottom method. I just dont like it cause you gotta get your AC recharged, and bleed the brake lines. I just took my time and removed everything from the front of the motor and intake, there you go...undo the engine mounts and tranny mount, sukker comes out.

But try what you can, some guys on this board are so proficient at the bottom out method that they can do it in under an hr.

Out the bottom for the quickest and least painful way of extracting the motor...
It is how it was designed.

Your worried about bleeding the brakes but your doing something as extreme as pulling the motor...

You say some of the odd'est ****.

Um no. get over it. Out the bottom is easier. you can sit there and argue and end up looking retarded or quit. I will sit here and take the time to explain why if you can't see it yourself.

Everyone has their opinion... but this was designed to come out the bottom, and that is how it comes out the best. Period. Designed for assembly line which means fast and easy.

I pulled mine from the top and it sucked , dropping the K has to be easier.
I almost broke my arm popin the trans bolts. Oh and pullin it from the top by myself took a few days. I pulled the front bumper off so i wouldnt mess it up but its been down so long i put it back b/c i got tired of lookin at it like that.

I`ve done 1 out the top with a friend and two out the bottom with the same friend. He thought it was easier to do his out the top and I thought mine was easier out the bottom. At the end of the day it comes down to personal prefrence.

ive pulled my motor both ways also. i pulled it from the bottom only because i had a lift, i pulled it from the top in a friends garage, not hard at all. just have to angle it a little bit to pull it out. i had my oil pan, intake and waterpump all on and it came out. no radiator but it was not bad at all

mines still apart i toke it out the top and it only toke a couple of hours. i only toke the assc. off, but if you have a good cherry picker hook it to the front and lift the body off the engine its easyer.

Yeah... screw that BS. Out the bottom is easier... dont have to take exhaust off... almost everything comes with it... if it comes out the top, a lot has to come off..
