If I remember right, there isn't since it then messes up the direction the belt is. I might be wrong.

If you are just taking it for a quick drive you can run it without the belt.

Sure you can. Don't forget the waterpump is not driven by the belt. You could drive without a belt until the battery goes dead. That would be quite some time if the lights aren't on.

Yea, he did. I typed a whole message saying the same thing, till I re-read and saw what he intended.

Thanks guys, I haven't had time to mess with it, but I think the A/c clutch bearing is shot, but I can't tell between the A/c or the Alt so wanted to turn the Alt but not the A/c, I'm pretty sure it's the A/c bearing, because with the air on it quites down alot.

I don't mean to sound like an *** (I'm going to), but you can't tell the difference between your Alternator and your AC Compressor? o_0

sounds like you've already answered your own question

if the a/c idler pulley bearing was going out it would make noise until you turned the air on engaging the compressor in which case the idler would be locked to the input shaft of the a/c compressor which would no longer spin that particular bearing

Well, between the cam, and the noise, from the top it sounds like it could be either or, But I was watching the A/C compressor, and with the A/C off the pulleys is wondering alot, so I'm pretty sure it's the A/C.

Because with the hot summers here, and it just being a street only car, I want the A/C still, thought abought a pulley has a temp fix so I drive it till the winter sets in.

Anyway thanks guy.
