Default is my vacuum to low?

ok i have a cc306 w/ 1.6 rr's with stock heads and intake manifold and when i put the car in drive and let it idle i only have 6 inches of mercury of vacuum in the intake manifold. That seems low to me, should it be that low?

Too low. Even with a cam, your looking at around 15-20 inHg

My car pulls 16inches vacum when its cold, 18-19 warm. Im gonna say you have a vacum leak or your piston rings are toast. Mods in sig!!!

might want to look into hydraboost after you get that vacuum leak checked out. it might be an intake leak if you cant find any hoses or anything like that. hopefully its not the piston rings!!!!

Is the vacuum gauge steady or bounce around? Could have an intake manifold leak. Spray some choke cleaner or whatever you have around the intake to see if there's a leak. What all is done to the motor and are you tuned for the cam?

You tighten them until you can't spin the push rods with your fingers. And then a 1/2 or 3/4 turn after that. Is that what you did? If you over tighten them, your looking at some damage. Use loctite if you need to.
