would this cause hardly any power?

everything is going good with the cam and heads but im not gettting any power i step on the gas and it take awhile to go any where, could this be from the rockers being to tight.

Yes, what kind of lifters are you using? I go 1/4 turn on my autozone replacement lifters and the car has gone 11.76 @ 117 on motor like this.

are you on a stock tune? auto? if so what size convertor? what size cam?

wannabee, per directions you're supposed to go 1/2 to 3/4 turn for preload

I understand what the directions say, but when you're spinning the motor with a cam some people prefer to go less, like me for instance.

I would check the basics.

Fuel

Air

Spark

Compression.

Put a guage on the car for fuel, run it at WOT in gear, meaning go drive it, it shouldnt move much at all if moves more then 4 psi then its a fuel issue

Check ALL wires throughly, look for cracks, burnt spots and check the opti plug arrangement i.e. Crossed wire.

Air- you should be fine, at worst maybe a clogged CAT, check the other two 1st.

Comp- If ALL else fails, give it a whirl.

If a rocker is loose, its going to make stupid noise.

If you think this is the most likely cause of your problem, I would grab, borrow, or rent a Cylinder Leak Down Tester and test each cylinder. If you're hanging a valve open via rockers too tight, it should show up here. Not only that, you should be able to hear where the air is leaking to (i.e. Primary, or intake mani) this will tell you which valve(s) are leaking, if it is a valve hung open.

Also, Cylinder Leak down testers are handy when re-setting your valve lash. I personally don't go by turns, but then again...everyone has an opinion on "how-to" or "how-not-to" set valve lash.

Hope this helps,
-Andrew

I've seen you post this a couple times and never understood why.... whats with the cc306 tune for a 503 and ported heads?

Oh, and you could always just readjust your rr's.
