I am in the same boat as you, and I will probly go with long tubes, because: 1. LT's are really close in price to shorty's, 2. if you plan to have any more mods, go LT's you will get more power than shorty's, 3. if emissions are not a big thing to you / you do not live in Cail., They have rolling smog stations and are dicks about everything you have on your car that is not stock, 4. you do not plain to slam your car to the ground, LT's reduce ground clearance even more, so I plan to pull mine every two years for smog and pray that I never see a rolling smog station, but that is down the road. I hope I gave you some info that could help you decide the age old question.

id go long tubes if I woulndt drop my car ....

id rather loose 5-10 hp then to ruin my headers

XS will probably be sold on Ebay like their LS1 offerings, but I also saw a sponsor on here who's likely to carry them.

IMO, if you need to be emissions legal (cant use LT's) I wouldnt get anything other than the single cat SLP's, Arizona Speed and Marine or RK Sport headers (they are all the same design). They are 1 3/4" primaries versus the 1 5/8th that the bbk, MAC and Edelbrock have.

you can get the XS LS1 headers from here so Im sure they will have the LT1 headers when they come out. Mine are awsome
