Default Bought 95 Z28 Tonight. Threw Rod. Engine Options?

Soooo....I bought a 95 Z28 that I knew was about to throw a rod and decided to go ahead and try to drive it home. Well I made it, minus 1 rod. Any thoughts on my best best for replacing the engine without completely breaking the bank? (I was planning on having to replace it...just not so soon.)

Anyways, at least it gets me back in the F-body scene...I had to sell my 98 a while back.

Anybody know what a RECON or Jasper engine costs for these, and is it worth it? I am just looking for something that won't smoke for a long time that I can drive occasionally (to the track).

i would just search for a complete used engine. one can be found for around $700 or so. if you are going to put one together yourself you may as well throw in a cam and stuff too. but as far as budget and less work, a complete used engine is the way to go.
