Default SLP Lid on LT1

Im sure this topic has came up in past, but is what kind of gain do you get out of it? What do you use for a bellow? And will it fit under a 2 1/2 cowl? Sorry for all the questions. just looking for different options.

I like the looks for the most part but I have to agree I liked my K&N CAI a whole lot better.

thanks for the links, also is there a Gain difference, or is your CAI just a preference. any info will help.

Yep I've still been looking for the hard proof that one is absolutely better than the other.

I want to go LS1 style just so that I can get to the damn air filter at least, getting the filter off the CAI becomes this mini project.

I may actually clean my filter more then once every year now.

Is it worth it? I picked up ET but could it have been the air on that day?

On the topic, will the LS1 lid fit my LT1 Ram air hood? I want to get the Ram Air instead of this CAI, but with my hood I am terrified of sucking in some water and ******* something up. The LS1 lid looks better at keeping water out.

What about keeping water out? How does the LT1 ram air keep water out?.. Also would the stock LS1 lid be any better than elbow+CAI, or would you need the SLP to actually step forward a little?

the hood has baffles in it to prevent water from coming in and even if it didn't it would have to be a serious serious rain storm to have a major affect. I think the LT1 Ram Air Boxes look a hell of a lot better and are much much more original and sensible then hacking up your radiator support to limit your airflow imo

I have the hood with just open grills not leading to any air filter. It was pouring down on the way home and I open my hood when I pull into my garage and my engine bay is soaked. If I put a filter on, that's gonna be bad

how many times do i have to post that i picked up 2 tenths from a k and n cold air to a ls1 lit setup....

went from a 12.18 (1.60 60') to a 12.005 spinnin (1.68 60')
yes the lt1 cai sucks the big one...btw times above were cam only...if you have more mode then a cam then youll gain more im sure...i have no supporting mods besides headers

Considering my HC car doesn't pull any vacuum with a CAI I find that hard to believe, and people have dyno'd before and after and showed no gains.
