lt4 head gasket ??? Hi, I'am rebuilding a lt4 , had head welded and refaced .012. can i use a stock .039 thick gasket or do i need to go to a .051 thick. will .012 off the head surface alter the compression ratio much or valve to piston clearance. thank's
It'll raise compression maybe 0.1 , say from 10.4 to 10.5. PTV will be irrelevant unless you have an insanely large cam, in which case you'd be checking regardless of calculation.
