hey! another cam thread!

what would be a good cam if you wanted to make alot of power between 1000 or 1500 to 6000. id be looking something that would work with stock heads and be easy to daily drive. I really want to avoid going to the hotcam because i know theres better cams out there. does anyone have any suggestions for what im looking for? i'd be planning on going SA 1.6 rockers, i dont know on the springs and hardened pushrods and new lifters. anyone have any suggestions?

Do a search on the Crane 227 or one the lingenfelter cams, most will tell you to get a custom cam. I have heard the crane cam makes great low to mid range power and torque, just not as much on the peak as others but out performs others in the stock heads application.

Crane 227, GM 845 or even the Comp CC 502 cam will be a good choice for that.

cc 503 is a very nice cam for stock heads...it has great low end and excellent driveability...I just had a thread bout this called LPE and CC503 cams, look it up, there is some good info in there...

Listen to Lloyd (NightTrain66)! He is a LT1 god! As soon as I get the money I plan to get heads and cam from him! He has done tons of packages for guys in Amarillo and Lubbock. I know this because I'm only an hour and a half from both those cities and friends with alot of the guys with his packages.

Agreed though 503 is a great choice for stock heads. I got it and love it.
