oil pump pickup
oil pump pickup How far is the screen supposed to be away from the STOCK pan, also how do you measure for this. need help trying to get this motor together and the oil system is really taking a long time. Thanks alot.
well you want it to be about a 1/4" so how i've seen it done and did it on my motor is put the pickup higher than what looks normal. then w/o the gasket set the pan on the block and push the pickup down. Now when you put your gasket on it will be that far off the bottom. Also its good practice to put a tack weld on the pump so the tube doesn't rotate or fall off.
