what will it take?

My old setup ran 93 octane pump gas.
11.3 @119 (1.5) NA...but gear/tire/and stall for nitrous
10.4@130 (1.4) 150 shot
new combo will still be a pump gas motor and should see high 10's NA and 9.50's on a big shot.
Not as impressive at 11.3's, but there nonetheless
.The mushy stalled auto doesnt like the dyno too much, but it sure hooks like hell
These things HOOK though, much better than most unibody cars anyway.

I think not, My D1 set up cost me app $6000.00 for pullies, spacers, and steel intakes tubes, this did not include any injectors, fuel upgrades ect. $3800.00 for the most expensive blower
My gut says you are not much different from your pal, claiming a 700rwhp, build I bet ends up WAY under that.
Few weeks ago I ran into a blown Merauder at the strip, he was drooling over my NA Caprice, he was running more than half a second slower
with deeper gears more stall and the intercooled blower. The LT1 is potent in competent hands, problem is a shortage of competent hands out there.
FWIW, INTMD8 over @LS1 speed has a super bad LT1 turbo!
