Default exhaust shop nonsense.

i went to a shop to ask about true duals and i told him I KNOW ABOUT THE CLEARANCE ISSUES. but he insisted on tleling me to use my pacesetter y pipe, into one bullet, dumped. is that better? i though true duels where the way to go. noone seems to listen to me when i say i want td's and nothing else lol

just buy the summit universal X and go to another shop and make em go over or under the axle for you. they shouldnt be hassleing you after you do the X yourself to show them you are serious about the clearance.

Check this link out. It has pictures and a how-to. You could print this as an aid for unimaginative exhaust shops.

Performance wise I don't think there is a difference between the single bullet or going dual with the mods you have. But I once heard that the X-pipe helps with low end torque. I went from duals that ran down one side and over the axle into a couple of 40 series flowmasters. It sounded good but to do that I had to run 2 1/4 pipe. Then I changed and ran it under the car with an X-pipe with 2 1/2 pipe and bullets dumped . I like that sound alot more and felt a power difference but I think it was more of the pipe size.
Here are a couple of pics of my set up now:

Most shops aren't going to want to mess with it because it didn't come that way and they are afraid of getting into trouble, can't blame them in a way. I agree that the way that you're gonna get this done is to A) diy, or B)find a custom Fab shop, they'll be more inclined to tackle the job. Some one mentioned doing the x yourself and then running it to a shop for finishing but dude, if you can do the x that's the hard part, you can hang a couple of mufflers and hangers. You could clamp it up temp and have a shop weld it.

go to a speed shop that does this stuff or a muffler shop you know does true duals on american cars.

you can also get teh true duals from texas speed and have a shop just make hangers for the duals other than that you can do it yourself if you like

I had a local shop do it the X-pipe is welded and it has band claps after the X-pipe and hooks at the end. The set up can come down easy or I can just unhook the the back half If I don't want to take it all off.
