Default EGR delete with headers and lt4 hot cam?

I would like to clean up the engine bay a little bit but I daily drive my 94 z28 and don't want to hurt anything. I have heard a bunch of stories about not deleting the egr on lt1s. I already deleted the air system and am wondering if I sould buy emmissions or non-emmisions headers for my camaro. As in the title, at the same time I will be putting in the lt4 hot cam kit.

Thanks

does your state or city require emission testing? if they dont then get emission-less headers and egr blockoff plates. if they do then get emission style headers

I had the Hot Cam Kit in mine with everything deleted and the Race Headers. After I got it tuned for it, it ran like a champ..

You don't want to delete the EGR if you are stock Cam..

What does deleting the EGR hurt while having a stock cam? I have never heard of this.

Let me rephrase...I wouldn't recommend it based on what I have researched.
I have seen a few stock LT1's blow Head Gaskets due to over-heating with the EGR deleted, untuned. The stock LT1 Cam profile doesn't allow the Cylinder pressures to escape, the stock LT4 Cam does, hence one of the reasons the LT4 doesn't have EGR. It's that small but I have seen a few LT1's pop cause of this..just what I have seen and researched.

You get a Cam in there and you are good, as long as your Fuel Trims are good.

Yup, Cam with overlap will pull enough of the intake charge thrugh to keep the exhaust valves cool. The egr helped with this on the stock cam setup...

So your saying if the car is tuned then there is less of a chance of this happening b/c i'm getting the car tuned right after christmas(within 2 weeks). and if this is the case i dont think it would be a prob driving it only another 2 weeks?

Deleting the EGR is a hit or miss. But a good tune should help. My EGR is disabled, and I have no problems with emissions or anything.

We had this discussion before in this thread.

Show me evidence of one car where this has happened and it was conclusively shown to be caused by EGR. I have never heard of it happening. I don't even see how it could cause that. I have heard however, of MANY people deleting their egr with a stock cam and having it run just fine, including myself, on two different cars.

I'm not buying it either. My WS6 ran for a long time with no EGR with a stock cam, and my vert and my LT1 truck have been and still do run with no EGR on stock cams. Both are daily drivers.
