Default UMI and Spohn

I'm gonna be buying relocation brackets, crossmember mounted adjustable torque arm w/ dsl, and subframe connectors. My question is, is the spohn torque arm any better than the umi or any different? The umi one is a tad bit cheaper with the dsl and was looking to go w/ that but if the spohn torque arm is any better I'll go with that.

most aftermarket suspension components are created equal. i went with UMI on all my things because of customer service, and prices.

Either way you are going to be getting a good quality piece for a good price. If the UMI is a little cheaper then go that route.

I haven't dealt with Spohn but I know first hand that UMI has GREAT customer service.

..and I went with Spohn for the same reasons...I live an hour or so from Spohn and Steve and Gordon are some stand up guys...I stop by from time to time to check them out....I run the Spohn cross brace mounted TA with 2 DS loops and its bad ***...After grenading one driveshaft, 2 loops (front and rear) is the only way to go...and their drag race rear sway bar is a very stout piece and less pricey than some others I've seen...

I started out with Spohn. The first tunnel brace I got from them had one side welded twisted and did not match up with the floorpan bolts. They assured me that their part had to be perfect and my car was somehow off. I had to use their part as it matched their torque arm with the rod end. I have photos somewhere. The second tunnel brace I got from them (through a friend as I was so pissed I didn’t want to deal with them) was correct and fit fine. It was the last thing I bought from Spohn.

Since then, I’ve only used UMI. Subframe, K-Frame, U&L arms, etc.

UMI it is!

Thanks guys. Well byunspeed is running 10% off umi plus they give free shipping and handling so I'm pretty set on UMI after figuring out that these parts are about equal. Body mounted adjustable torque arm, weld in subframe connectors, and weld in relocation brackets it is!

Well I'll be daily driving and running street tires maybe borrow a set of slicks from my friend for a pass or two so I think one dsl will suit me fine

I run full UMI suspension with a Spohn rear drag bar(I love it!) since UMI doesnt make one.

Both are top notch, using quality materials and I could not tell any quality difference between the two side by side. UMI is a little cheaper, and also has great customer service so I chose them for everything I could.

One thing UMI stands out for though is shipping - I have never recieved a part with so much bubble wrap! I highly doubt anything from UMI would be damaged in shipping.

HAHA I second that, I was actually getting a little mad because it took me longer to unpackage my control arms than it did to install them!

ive purchased several umi traction products and they have stood up very well to the conditions i subject them to. i dont know much about the umi torque arm but i know my brother had the spohn chassis mounted TA on his a4 ls1 and the thing was very well designed and manufactured and made a world of difference in the traction he got off the line.......but.......it made a rediculous amount of noise. so much that he eventually got sick of it and put an edelbrock on there.
