I would doubt that. The opti is not as bad as a lot of people make it out to be.

Although I agree with the rest of your response the part I quoted of that I do not agree with. There are several HUNDRED threads on the net with pictures and proof that they are indeed a work in progress and many have been highly disappointed. They do offer advantages over the stock units, but what good is that when the thing can't stay together long enough to run?

I'm just running the cap and rotor, not their whole opti.
I missed that. BTW how long did you have to schedule the dyno before hand. Did Chip do it or was it his son? How much did they charge and for how long? I am headed thier way in the very near future that is why all the questions

It looks like the rising line on the bottom is rpm...and the other line that stays pretty straight between 12 and 14 is the A/F line...It looks a bit confusing, but you have to look at both sides of that bottom section...

Jeremy Formato tuned the car and it was more of a last minute thing since he was waiting on a cable for a different customers car. He usually posts up in the florida section when he's going to be tuning.

I hate to bring back old threads but I know a bunch of people wanted to see the graph in RPM instead of MPH so I got the run files and edited the original post with that graph. I haven't gotten it back on the dyno but the miss ended up being a lose rotor in the opti, then a couple months ago I had another miss that ended up being the coil. Anyway it seems to be 100% now with a clutch that will hopefully hold.

NIce, this was through a 10 or 12 bolt? Those numbers SAE?

Got a news flash for ya, the stock ignition is WELL capable with no help of doing what your car needs it to do.

MY Accel 300+ box took a dump while adjusting my valves. I bypassed it to go to the track. This was a month and a 1/2 ago. The car has run ALL of its 10 sec passes(about 10-12) except for 2 on the stock ignition. All it has is an Accel coil.

I am running some good cylinder pressure, hanst missed a lick since I took it off.

BTW Accel is a SUPER company to deal with, they have bent over backwards to help me.

EDIT-I just noticed this is an old thread.EDIT

LOCKTITE YOUR ROTOR SCREWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I haven't had a chance to re-read the thread but the miss on the dyno was from a lose rotor on the opti, and I had a miss pop up a couple months ago that ended up being the coil. I still have the ignition box but I doubt it did anything. #'s are SAE through a 10 bolt.

Thanks for updating the graph speed_demon. How's the stock shortblock holding up? Stock oil pump and spring?

Still doing fine. I'm running a melling select pump with a white spring in it. My old oil pump was in pretty bad shape.

That thing looks pretty nasty. Looks like you had a lot of debris running through your oil.

Wow, impressive numbers man.
Are you saying the cam is 23x/23x or smaller than 230/230?

Someone or something. There have been 3 cam swaps and 3 head swaps on this car that I know about so who knows what kind of trash fell in there.
