Default True Dual Question?

For you guys who have fabbed up thier own setup, what pipes would I need to buy? I want to run a X-pipe off my pacesetter LT's with some type of bullet muffler with turndowns at the axle. what pipes would I need to buy to do this? Im thinking 3in or 2.5in.

I'm going w/ 3" most people say its overkill but I got plans for the future and don't listen if anyone tells you 2.5" will make more power than 3. Since when does better flow = less horsepower.... anyways your best bet is to buy a universal x pipe kit and a couple straight pipes and turndowns and you should be good to go...if you end up going over the axle your gonna want to buy a bunch of u bends

if you were a little closer i might of been intrested, but i really wanna go x-pipe

but transamws6 I think Im gonna try the 3in jegs universal and mock up my own with the mig welder then bring it too a shop to have the final welds put on. it looks really easy to fab up if im just wanting to go with it dumped at the axle

i remember seeing some write up and all you had to do was add a few inches of piping before the x and it fit perfectly w/ pacesetters

I run Edelbrock SDT 304s in 3"...They sound/flow great and are only 3 5/8" thick...But they are like $120/each...I love mine and there are a few folks around here running 8s and 9s with them...Here's the link to my old thread with pix...

Borla XR-1 sound awesome, and so do Flowmaster Single Chambers (if you can spare the clearance under the car). Moroso Spiral Flows, Magnaflow, and chambered Power Stick mufflers are all good options as well.

Dead set on fabbing it yourself? texas speed sells a full x-pipe dumped setup. Currently $459.99 ... I think I got them way back when there was a special... paid closer to $400 and it was free shipping. Its meant for an LS1 but, if you ditch the one small bent piece and make yourself about a 1' straight piece it will fit fine.. I have photos of it on mine with the pacesetters if your interested (or just search my name in true dual threads.. I've whored out the photos in a few already).

yeah man 95 bucks for a summit 3" x pipe kit and 60-100 for mufflers and you got yourself a decent system. that's exactly what i'd do if i want going custom because of my aftermarket torque arm
