Default What To Use???

I am about to pull the motor and rebuild top end of the motor, i blew the head gaskets . But when i am there i may as well make it better and i am wanting to do a cam swap and headers. I have already found out what kind of headers and cam i am going to use. I am going with pacesetter long tubes, and the hot cam. But with that being known i still need to know what HEAD GASKETS, INTAKE GASKETS, HEADER GASKETS, STALL, LIFTERS, AND PUSH RODS to use. So plz help me i am in college and need to get this rebuild in like two weeks with getting parts and everything. So PLZ help me.

AND is it really worth the money for the stage 8 header bolts???

Get ahold of Thunder Racing, they have gasket packages to swap everything you need. It will be cheaper too since it's like a package deal from them. As for everything else:

Stock stall will work with the hotcam but a 2800-3000 will make it funner
Lifters- how many miles do your have?
Pushrods- depends on mileage, what rockers you want to use, or to be safe just get the hardened ones from Comp. their like $40

The car has 115,000 miles. I am going to buy the hot cam kit from summit and it has the cam, rockers, and springs. So that wont be a issue. About the stall i was told that you have to get a NAME brand stall or you will loose time and high RPMs bc of slipage is this true and if it is how much am i looking at loosing bc i want to put one in but i dont want to put a $525 yank stall in there yet

If you know what your doing check the lifters when they are pulled. They should still technically be good but you never know. Also check the pushrods and see if they are bent, if not then reuse them. Or if your paranoid about it you can get hardened pushrods and stock replacement lifters from Comp. Cheap insurance if you wanna think about it that way. As for the stall don't cheap out on that, get a Yank or Vigilante. Probably a few other good names but I got a M6 so I'm no professional. Search for stalls in the automatic transmission section and see what comes up.

BTW I reused my pushrods and lifters when I did my cam swap and they were at just over 90k miles.

Yeah but i would hate to spend all of that money and something go wrong over a set of $40 pushrods or same for the lifter. But any other ideas on the gaskets i looked and the thunder racing and you have to pretty much peice the together and it a little pricey. I am looking for a good set. I dont know about the springs????

I looked and it seems they only have the sets for the LS1. Dang favoritism! Anyway just stick to Felpro gaskets and you should be good. And if you want get the Percy's dead soft gaskets for the headers. As for the springs people do ok with them. Some just don't like them because they are meant for the LT4 heads which have lighter valves. So the springs are almost maxed out with the lift of the cam and the valves are a little heavier which is why people upgrade them. Again just cheap insurance as I have yet to see where someone has had a LT4 spring actually break.

Yes on the stock size pushrods. As for the header bolts just don't get the locking bolts! I hear they are a PIA if you ever want to take them off for any reason. I suggest you get the bolts that are a little bit longer than stock...either 3/4" or 1" if I remember right.

for head gaskets I have heard the fel-pro 1074 is a very good gasket and is what i am using and will get job done, I use Mr.Gasket copper seal for the headers and felpro performance for the intake

for lifters, get the GM ls7 lifter, only 100$ from scogginDickey and they are good to 7000RPM and I would go with a hardened pushrod while your in there.
