why would anybody get an auto anyways, what fun is that
Because they know they can beat me with 1/2 the power

My biggest issue with the auto/medium sized HR () is that I want more control of the rpms. Since you obviously have good info about it working just fine, I believe ya!

So what kind of power gains would you see on a 409 LT4 motor that is currently running a hot cam.

Has anyone gone from a HOT cam to a CC306?

you would see A LOT. the RPM range is considerably higher, between 400-600 rpms, so you would need to spin the motor higher, but the power gains are worht it. I would estimate ATLEAST 15rwhp ACROSS THE BOARD. instead of going with the 306 cam, I would just do a huge custom grind that would go best with the 409. An LT4 Hot cam in a 409 is pointless, the motor will eat that cam up, spit it out, and beg for more. Its just way to small of a cam for a 409. I would go with something bigger than a 306 for a 409.

Awesome numbers and the car is extremely fast, ive known of your car for a while here in houston and everybody says its crazy fast. Even though your knocking on 10's door, i still think there is a lot more to be had with a much bigger cam for your 409. I could be wrong, but they way i see it is that an LT4 hotcam in a 409, is comparably as big as a stock cam in a stock LT1. I think you could easily go bigger and see some gains, but if you didnt, you would still have the fastest late model Impala I have ever seen and thas freakin impressive in a 4400 lb car
