LT1 Edit on hand for the tuning though

with stock heads, and upgraded valve springs it'll make decent power on the 1.5 RR's you'll see a huge jump in power with 1.6 RR's though.
You would gain -> <- much with 1.6 rockers. If you already have 1.5s, don't sweat it. If you are about to buy rockers, get the 1.6s, non-self aligning, and with a 7/16" dia stud.
I would not run this cam in an A4 car. You'd probably need a vacuum canister. Don't listen to weenie cam proponents about low end powerloss. This cam makes good power across the board. Tuning is key to making driveability - mail order tuning won't cut it.
Talking with a friend about this cam on stock heads... The small ports (high velocity) of the stock heads probably HELP the driveability of this cam. More compression would help as well, but yes, it will work!

fwiw i had an old cc306/stock shortblock/6 speed combo a couple years ago. went 11.34 @ 121 NA and 10.54 @ 132 on the gun. 3600lbs, no dyno tuning, and stock shocks etc (tire spin). used to be my only car and everyday driver with that combo and i have no complaints about that cam. i used and recommend the Crane 10308-1 spring/retiner kit. its cheap, fits in stock seats, and after a couple years of daily driver and racing use they didnt float at 7000 rpm. we also used them in my buddys car, along with a hydra-rev kit on both cars
FWIW, I ran the 306 on bone stock tuning for a month. Had some nice surge, but it was definitely driveable. However, it DID take quite a bit of tuning to get it back to near-stock driveability (stock 3.42 gears).
I should also backup and say that I wouldn't want an auto anyway, so I surely wouldn't want this cam with auto!

why would anybody get an auto anyways, what fun is that
