Default Plz help

I have a chance to get a new TCI 3400 stall, for $300 and a tranny that needs rebuilt. Would this be to much for what i have i am about to put a hot cam and headers on also. But would this be to much with all of this on it, and also it TCI a good converter, i mean i know its not a yank but is it good.

It sounds to me like you came across a really good deal. People run stalls that big with just bolt ons, so i dont see how it would be too high. Although it is best to match your cam and gears with it, it will help more than hurt. When is your spray set to kick in?

I actually just took it all off today. I blew a head gasket and i a rebuilding the top end and i am doing a hot cam hit and headers and i want to do a stall but i dont know much about them so. Is TCI a good brand? All i hear is about YANK but i dont really have 525 to buy a yank. but this guy has a 3400 stall and the tansmission out of a 94 so i figure y not if that is not a bad stall. What do you think?

If you have the money, vig and yank are supposed to be top of the line, but i have heard good things about tci as well. I personally would be all over it. Although, all of the big racing gurus will tell you that theres more in picking a stall than just chosing a random number. I believe i read that you want a converter that kicks in 1000 rpm before your torque peaks out (but dont hold me to that).

Just don't forget that if there's any crap in that converter, it will be floating around in your trans. I know there not cheap, but you really can't beat a Yank or Vig. Had both, and both were, are, top notch!
