Default noob Lt1 project

OK so I got the engine all torn down and ready to go to the machine shop. I pretty much know what direction I'm wanting to go with it just looking for some advice from the ones that have been down this road before. This is the setup I'm looking at:

355 LT1
Hotcam kit
1.6rr's
Comp pushrods
ls7 lifters
OEM replacment opti
MSD blaster coil
MSD wires
NGK tr55 plugs
Pacesetter LT's
ORY
Flowmaster cat back
Lingenfelter CAI
Port mached TB
Air foil
!air
!EGR
!cats
2800 stall
3.73's
255 fuel pump
and a good tune

I'm hoping to get around 320HP at the wheels. I dont know if this will be enough to meet that goal but I hope to be somwhere in the neighborhood. Any advice or constuctive criticizm welcome.BTW I will keep this engine N/A no spray or boost whatsoever. Thanks.

And yes I know the body kit blows

Deck the block and run a lot of quench and compression. Ugraded fuel pump is not needed at this level. Injectors (MAY) be needed if you get good porting on the heads. You are going to have a blast!!

Get a custom ground cam. If you're going to do a cam do it right

Throw that "hotcam" kit in the lake where it belongs...there are better cams off the shelf.

"Port matched throttlebody" Whats that?

You need a 52mm TB

The catback is ok, take the dual outlet flowmaster muffler and throw it in the lake with the hotcam kit, put a single in/out muffler of your choice with a single outlet dump on the drivers side of the rear bumper. I recommend a Magnaflow, Borla, Hooker Aerochamber, Dynatech Splitflow muffler.

Stock fuel pump is fine

Put more converter in it with a lockup

If you already have a 3.23 or 3.42 gear leave it alone.

My opinions.

If your putting in a stall and gears, i would also step up to a larger cam either custom or the popular cc306 or the gm847, i think those would work better with your mods and put you well past 320hp

you have a pretty good set up. listed there. ur goals arent set high, which is nice. you want a nice streetable car. the hotcam has been around for years and has proven itself to be a decent low budget street cam....but there are now better off the shelf cams out there that will net you more power and be just as streetable. if i were you though id talk to lloyd elliot about a custom grind for your setup, and consider a 32-3400 stall. also ditch the flowmaster catback, and get a hooker or magnaflow. other than that, your setup looks pretty good to me.

I'm going to ditch the hotcam and go with a comp XFI 260. Will this work with the crane 10308-1 spring kit and comp magnum 1.6rr's? And also do I need a hydraulic flat-tappet or hydraulic roller for my allipcation? Please escuse my ignorance for I'm a NOOB.

nice upgrade, the comp 260 xfi is even smaller than the hotcam lol.

And you need hydraulic roller.
