Default cam only 355 back from track.

car put down 386 on the dyno so I decided to take her to the track.

cam only 355 baby. stock clutch, stock gear, stock throttle body, stock intake, stock castings.

weather = 65*

60' 2.082
330' 5.464
1/8th 8.266 @ 86.44
1/4 12.681 @ 111.52

clutch slipped so bad I thought it was on fire at the end of the track. Smelt like I locked my brakes down from 160. nasty smell.

im happy there was a 515hp c6 with a procharger that ran 12.3 @ 115 auto. he had to get out of it a little in 2nd....blowin the dang tires off it. lol.

im thinkin about a 12.3-4 @ 114 with a clutch in it.

my first lt1 was a bolt-on auto with 125 shot that ran 12.62 @112, so im eager to see what this one can do on nitrous.

Agreed. 60' time is still pretty high, could be the cluthc or most likely your suspension that needs some work.

cluch has about 1200 miles on it. it slipped till about 5800rpms in first and slipped a little in 2nd. no tire spin at all. stock clutch doing a 3500rpm quick dump. my dad said the clutch actually smoked......

after that clutch travel changed about 2 inches. maybe 3. clutch went from about 90% to about 40% im sure.

ahhhh that smell.

Yeah that smell will gag ya! The only other thing that I can think of that has such a distinct and unmistakeable stinch is burnt ATF.

Upgrade your clutch to a spec stage 2 or 3 and you should be throwing down much better times. Remember on the launch not to dump it all at once rather to coast into the power so you don't spin. Spinnin ain't winnin'

I think a SPEC 3 will do ya and be more streetable than the 4. Get that straightened out and those 60' down and you should have really good times for a cam only setup!

I'm in the same boat as you man. My 97 Formula with Nitrous ran a 12.66 with a horrble 2.1 60' and no traction.

My 96 WS6 now runs a 12.4 with around the same 60' all motor. I'm hoping after some suspension stuff and some sticky tires I can hit high 11's.

Of course then I'll see what she can do with the 150 shot!

Grats! So the only mod to this car is a cam? No changes anywhere else on the car?

look at the signature: 355 CC306.. so its been... rebuilt stock pistons maybe? but to go along with that he has Hotchkis SFC's, LCA's, headers and Nitto drags which is helping him out

pretty damn good for not having any head work
