Default Solid motor mounts?

What is a solid motor mount, and when would u need one. I thought the only mount upgrade was just going to poly?

solid is exactly that. solid, its a chunk of metal basically, no give... no movement... your car will shake a lot, but it wont break like a rubber mount does and poly can to.... not very street friendly tho... i wouldnt reccomend it unless its a track car..

Run solid motor mounts, and don't look back. If you going to go in there to do them might at as well do it right the first time and not worry about going back in there again at a later time. Don't let this people try to fool you it's not even that back it's not for "race cars" only I daily drove my old 97 for 2 years with solid mounts and its not even that bad.

Default not too sure about solid motors

im not too sure about solid motor mounts and it seems you have gotten a few responses but i do have a polyurethane tranny mount and honestly i can feel a little vibration at stops but once you get going its completely gone. i dont think i would honestly go back to rubber mounts once they are all worn out because they just odnt have the longevity that the solid/polyurethane ones do. the way i see it is, if youre gunna fix it, fix it for good. poly does go bad over time but thats gunna be quiet a long time. just my .02

I have the poly mounts and they allow very little engine movement, but enough to be smoother than solid.

It will vibrate something awful and suck on the street. Track only, dont say we did not tell you so.

I run poly. I can feel my fillings getting looser and looser everyday. I can't imagine what a solid mount would feel like.
