Default Gear Spacer

Ok I going to put 3.42s in the rear end of my car but It has 273s now with a series 2 carrier so I need to get a spacer. I was told that the spacers work loose and arnt a good idea is anyone useing a spacer how do they hold up. thanks.

are you talking about a solid washer insted of the crush washers for the pinion?

no he's talking about the ring gear, a spacer for the ring gear bolting up to the carrier. If im not mistaken check LS1speed.com, i think they sell Series 2 ring and pinion gears. As far as the spacer, i would try and avoid it.

yea I no I already have the gears so I want to see if I can make this work.

you can use it, but like i said i recommend against them, im sure you wont have a problem selling them for close to what a new set would cost that are actually made for your carrier
